Hi all i am a trainee nomad wanting to buy a used campervan and am currently located Tweed /Coolangatta border area. Apart from Gumtree can anyone direct me to a popular web site where people are buying and selling used campervans. In my case Toyota if possible mechanically sound, high top, inside kitchen area, single bed only needed, have some bulky items that may take up another seat/bed. fridge and two burner cooktop , electrical fittings in place and any other goodies that might come with that. I am a 63 year young medical retiree wanting a travelling home. have around 10K to spend plus rego and insurance. FB Eagle Hawk ty.
There is a for sale section on this web site. You can use newspapers, trading post, notices on the notice boards, even go around the caravan sales yards, as they sometimes have trade in like this.
That price range 10K ( a bit under or over ) is the price range that a lot of the backpackers are buying and selling for.
You will have to be careful and only buy from a known or recommended seller or you could end with with a heap of rubbish that has been flogged around Australia a few times.
There are some good vans out there.
Gumtree is good at that price range.

Russ,
Suggest you look at a number of different types of vehicles and layouts B4 purchase and also work out how long you will be on your trip with the vehicle, as you may find say a Toyota Hiace is to small for all your gear for a long trip.
Recently came across a fellow RV'er in a HiAce that had decided after 3 months that it was to small and was considering a Sprinter, Fiat or Transit Long wheel base vehicle.
To me the lower cost vehicles can have mechanical issues, not a bother for one who has mechanical skills and times to fix on the road, but is another consideration.
