A great little park in Tin Can Bay QLD

We have been here 6 weeks, and love it; the area and the park.

Park is Kingfisher Caravan Park, run by Cliff, and it is pet friendly (we came with a lorikeet and have since added a dog).  Granted, the amenities block is a bit old, but the new ones will be open by Christmas.  Good rate (we paid $180wk for first 4, then $130wk after that).

The park residents are a friendly bunch (long-termers and blow-ins), as are the people of the Cooloola Coast.  There is an IGA, PO, hairdresser, several eateries (including Country Club with courtesty bus and RSL), servo, Butcher, a vegie shop, a gym thingy, NAB bank branch, 2 bakeries, doctor surgery, dentist and a few other shops in Tin Can Bay, a Woolworths in Cooloola Cove, which is a 5 minute drive from the park; Rainbow Beach is 30-40km away, and Gympie is 50ish (Coles, Target, Woolies, Big W).  There is a bus once a day to Gympie.

If birdlife is your interest, there's plenty of that here.  Fishing spots are also in abundance, and you can visit the dolphins at Norman Point every morning ($5 entry, $5 per fish to feed them), or hire a kayak, tinnie or BBQ boat for a spin on the bay or creeks.

All in all, we highly recommend the area, and the park.
