yeah, im always paranoid about trees and tree limbs..

that's the first thing I look at when picking a spot..

which way the tree is leaning.. where the branches are over hanging etc..

I remember when I was over in WA on a Motorcycle trip sleeping in a swag...

I was at a park this night south of Fremantle and made sure I was nowhere near falling branches..

at around 3am I got up for a pee... evileye ... then when I hopped back in my swag dozing back off to sleep I suddenly heard, in the dead of night..

crack crack crack errrrrkkkrrraaasshhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!  blankstare

boy.. I nearly crapped meself.. !!

so.. be careful out there peeps.. smile

Over recent decades, hundreds of gum trees have been planted in school grounds, as part of the over-zealous 'it has to be native' push.

Very sad Barina, we know it happens but still sad when it does, many of us do seek the refuge of shade on hot days even though we know the possibilities, a bit like surfers going into water knowing there are sharks out there.

At one place I was camped the wind had come up very strongly and I decided to move away from a large swaying tree, parked near a small tree which looked safe.   Yep, you guessed it, the big tree remained in one piece and the smaller tree dropped a branch on my vehicle where it was parked, luckily the branch dropped like a spear the base hitting the ground first behind my vehicle, then toppling onto it, very little damage done.   But talk about Murphy's law.......at least some bystanders who had watched me move my vehicle thought it was funny. furious
