I have the current model Colorado twin cab with canopy but couldn't get the camera at the time of delivery so have it booked in with Holden next Tuesday to get the rear camera they use fitted as it will show up on the "MyLink" screen. I am also in the process of arranging for a rear view mirror monitor for the Collie to hook up to the caravan rear camera. I'm a little confused on that part at the moment though so a good friend is sorting that out for me as we speak, I think, I hope smile

Not sure what flavour camera Holden use though sorry confuse

We got ours from Auto Barn they supplly and fit all sort of price range , It was fitted just above the tow ball it's great for hooking up wouldn't be without It

I have a twin cab triton ute and installed a wireless camera which has the video display in part of the rear view mirror. Bought it on ebay.

Took the power for the camera from the light wire in the Canopy and the mirror has a cigarett plug in the cab. I wanted it to only display when I have the vehicle lights on, have the camera up on the top rear of the canopy and use it all the time for hooking up trailers and van. Occasionally it flickers a bit because of wireless interference, but I can live with that because I didn't have to run any wires from the camera to the display!

We had a reversing camera fitted by Mazda for our 2014 BT50 (at great expense I might add). It was mounted to the right of the rear number plate and was useless in that the vision from the rear vision mirror screen had the lines, which are supposed to represent the sides of the vehicle, lined up with the centre of the car and way, way off to the drivers side. After a bit of a battle with the dealer they (today) re-located the camera to the centre of the vehicle. I am not sure why it was not done in the first place?? Happier now, but I have seen much better vision with units using a bigger screen. Have a good look at what they show. In hindsight I would have not had the Mazda accessory fitted, and bought an after market unit. Over to the others to recommend which one. Good luck. Brownie2

I have a 2011 BT50 and have the reversing camera over the number plate and it shows up the ball making it easy to couple up. It also shows quite a range behind the vehicle when backing up in parking lots etc.

I have one , got it from Aldi , not sure of the price ,but I mounted it next to the number plate , 1/2 way up the rear door.

I have a hard wired camera fitted to the Prado and one on the van, fitted both myself the one on the Prado is fitted to the rear bumper just above the tow ball the one on the van is fitted just above the spare wheel, had a wireless type camera before this one not worth a pinch of goats p&$,I bought my camera,s leads and a five and a half inch monitor screen,had my set up for about 6years bought from Safety Dave in Melbourne he will send any where in Australia and at the time I paid around $410.00 the lot, I believe he has better quality gear now for a lesser price .

Like others we have a BT50 to which we have fitted a reversing camera from Safety Dave. Its mounted centrally above the number plate, provides a great view of the ball and the socket and it has saved us so much grief when hitching up that I'd pay the price over again. As a rear vision camera it's a bit of a dud in my opinion, its a wide angle camera intended to deal with static objects close to the truck and so it doesn't deal well with dynamic objects some distance from the truck. On the rear of the van we have another reversing camera (that we seldom use) mounted low down and a rear vision camera mounted high but focused some distance behind the van and we use this all of the time when traveling.

As I said we got the cameras and wires and screen from Safety Dave (just Google it) and they are a great company to deal with. Helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Give them a call explaining what you want and I'm sure they'll give you heaps of good advice - they'll even recommend auto electricians to do the install and /or repair.

I just finished installing one in my 2010 Ranger Extra Cab, purchased it off ebay for $40 with free postage.

Mounted the camera underneath the step in the centre directly above the number plate, and it has a separate 4.3" display ( have it in a temp spot until I work out the best location for it)

It looked ok when I completed the setup, but I only mounted the camera with double sided tape, I want to try a couple of other location to see which gives the better result.

The display has provision for a 2nd input the supplied installation sheet is less than comprehensive on detail, but I think this could be used for a 2nd camera.

Yep the 2nd port on the display can be use for a 2nd Camera.

Time visit Ebay and buy a 2nd camera

Thanks Gundog - I thought it would be straight from China but looks like more and more Australian importers are bringing stuff into the country in bulk and then onselling.
