G'day. I cannot agree more. on our recent trip we spent 5 weeks there. great hot showers and sit down toilets. plenty of dam water but potable water is available in town. if you wish to fish be sure that you get your impoundment permit in town or you will need a trip back to town as they do not issue them at the dam. Bloody cold when we were there but we are from the NT. will be back in the warmer times. Clermont got down to - 4.5 just after we left.
Cheers

We are presently in Emerald heading north tomorrow. Do we go to Clermont and then out to the dam? Google maps wants to send me to Capella and then then out to the south side of the dam. Doesn't seem right. All help appreciated

PeterM, you can either go to Capella then on to Clermont, then turn down towards the dam.
Or you can go to Capella turn left, go in a way then turn right which will take you up to the dam. You end up in the same part of the dam which ever way you go. All sealed roads. Have driven them many times. Going this way you will go over the Theresa Creek Bridge on the way there, it's more like a low weir, free camping right beside it.
