The issue is Troopy, that if all the good ones like yourself go the only ones left are the ones who bluff their way through. I am only new to all this & need as much help as I can get decking out the Fiat. Would hate to think that any future advice is from people who really don't know & I and others end up the proverbial creek without the paddle. Generally from replies you can tell the good from the BS but if all you get is BS well thst makes it hard. Please reconsider your decision to go, I personally enjoy your posts & insight on things.

do you really need to do that mate?

can you just take a break for a while? maybe visit another place like Baby Boomers, it is quiet over there and some nice people too.

I understand where you are coming from though

Pitty to see such a good contributor with extensive knowledge leave.

I have just spent the best part of an hour trolling thru his recent posts to see if I could find out what triggered his exit ... To no avail.

I feel that there have been a few perhaps inappropriate posts recently & thought that they may have been the trigger but found no indication that this is the case.

I took myself off line for a day or two, Then went back onto the Forum and checked all my History, of Posts I made, or Participated in, Pre, ''Avatar Minority Decision' hmm hmm And when I look at that History, you know there was a lot of good times, a Lot of good friendships , a lot of good information, and a lot of ''Respect'' It was good while it lasted. hmm

Please do the same Troopy, !! I took a quick look at your history as well ? go back , read your old posts, see how many people you have helped or assisted, and see how many of them hold that respect for you, Please do that, and if you then decide to go, well so be it, However, ? it will be the Forums Loss, [ once again ] hmm

I decided to stay around, albeit in a much reduced participation mode, and will wait and see , to what degree the GN Forum recovers. I can still keep contact, with all the Members I wish to remain in contact with, -- You could [ and should ] smile do the same.? So please stick around and find out how things? develop. And Do not let these Rude Newbies obtain their objective.

Thanks for that everybody. Yes, it really is a shame that 03 troopy has left the forum, I really hope that he reconsiders. He has been a fantastic member for many years and will be greatly missed. It seems that there has been a lot of dispute on the techies’ forum recently, some of which has become personal. I would like everyone to please remember that the forum is enjoyed by a great many people, many of whom never post. It is a great source of information and entertainment for lots of grey nomads, and wannabe grey nomads. Getting involved in personal disputes on the pages of the forum serves no useful purpose and only serves to alienate many who come here to learn and to enjoy. As I have said before, if any of you have any concerns about a post or poster or just any thoughts on what is happening on the forum, I would be delighted to receive a PM from you. Thanks for your understanding.
