My wife and I are thinking about Melbourne Cup 2015 on a return trip from SA to Brisbane and wondering if anyone has a few suggestions about where we could camp up and either drive or Train to Flemington.
We have never had the opportunity to go to the big day and thought this could be our chance. Hope the suite and dress are not too dusty...Ha Ha!
There is a caravan park at Coburg - Big 4 one. The train from Coburg does not go directly to Flemington, but you could go closer in to the city centre and change trains to the Flemington one. Or just get a taxi. It is possible that bus routes go from Coburg to Flemington - the caravan park people should be able to give you info on best public transport options.
There is a park in Geelong rd Brooklyn and one in Lillydale that I know off , and one in Hume hwy Campelfield , although the latter two are a fair way to travel
