Caravan Parks for long (not permanent) term stay SE Qld or Nth NSW

We are permanent Grey Nomads and because we are not on "holiday" would love to stay in some areas for more than 6 weeks - we spent 8 weeks in Bowen and 8 weeks in Rockhampton and really got to know the area.

Does anyone know of any such parks (who are a reasonable price)
Thanks in anticipation
Vix

we stay a week outside of Caliope near Gladstone at the dam free spot, no power drop box and take your water and you bring out your trash.
St Lawrence is good, Fletchers Creek and Elphingston lake Most are for a couple of weeks only. that a free. Seaforth outside of Mackay 150 a week no power hot showers.

Thanks, for your reply Sugarcane Campers.
We are in Albury at the moment staying in a park where we have been for 10 weeks. We need to stay at least 2 weeks so we can wait for the pension so we can fuel up.

Theodore ( Qld. ) Showground. $15 night or $75 week. Doesn't appear to be a time limit.

Good little town. Great meals at the pub.

I believe so - though I think Ipswich you have to leave for their annual show.

And I made a boo boo - it is Kyogle NOT Koger

I have not encountered any commercial parks that have a time limit of less than 6 weeks (that's not to say there are not any.) The places with shorter times will be national parks and the freeby/extra cheap community provided facilities. The general rule of park prices is they reflect the local price of the land and/or council rates. If you wish to stay in popular places where land values are high then expect to pay through the nose.

If you stay out in the country you cab still find parks under $20 in the small country towns. If you don't mind isolated areas for a while then you can catch up on your savings.

Woolomin is a small settlement on the bank of the Peel River, about 20 km north of Nundle, New South Wales, Australia and about 40 km south east of the city of Tamworth. It is on the Fossickers Way near Chaffey Dam. There is a FREE camping ground with water on tap, very clean flushing toilets, there are several powered sites ($4.00 night from general store). Great little village with very friendly general store less than 100 meteres. Unhitch and explore the new england region - we only spent a week there, but met couple that were there 12 weeks. small river/creek with swimming hole.

Vixen, are you interested in house sitting.  We are permanently on the road 4 years now, and have been house/farm sitting on and off for the past two.  Since November 2014 we have had the following:

Lockyer Valley - 4 weeks

Sunshine Coast Hinterland - 4 weeks over Christmas/new year

Ningi (near Bribie Island) - 2 weeks

Murgon farm - 7 weeks

Delungra farm - 6 weeks

These house sits give us the opportunity to save money and wear and tear on our tug and tow, and also the ability to really explore the area.  Give it some thought.

Thanks for your reply. We are looking at being able to stay months at a time - its ok to pay CP fees as long as its not more than $30-ish a night.

Thank you for that offer, it sounds wonderful and definitely worth consideration

We won't be back in Queensland for quite some time now as we are getting deeper and deeper south/west.

Thanks for letting us know.
Vicky
