Its Finally Arrived

After a 4 month wait we have finally taken delivery of our very first van.

A New Age Little Joey 16S. Picked it up on Friday. Woohoobiggrin.gif

Now comes the purchase of the additional needs like outside  table and chairs, pots and pans, small BBQ etc etc.

We have booked into a CP at Hastings Point NSW for 4 days for our first shake down trip (the first week of November).
Hastings Point is approximately 1.5 hr drive south of us so it is not to far away and we will use the trip to find those things that are required or inturn not needed.

I am planning on retiring in early July 2015 but will go to 3-4 days a week at the end of this year in preparation.(and to get away for short trips).
We are both very excited and looking forward to getting out there.

I would also like to give a big thankyou to this site and all who have shared there experiences and knowledge as it has help us immensely. Again Thank You

I just love logging in and reading the variety of stories and exploits of all members.

See you on the road

Cheers

I don't know how to break this gently so I'll have to be blunt.

IT HAS NO DOOR.

Take it back.

It's a pity you weren't a bit more experienced then you would have realised this.

Happy to be of assistance.

Hi Redlander  ... Congratulations.

When you are choosing your crockery, look closely at Corelle ware.  Light weight & good to eat off.  Robust, but don't drop them.

We like those folding blow mold tables ...  look for the light weight  ones.  The aluminium slat ones are good too, lightweight but a bit of a pain to fold up.

Cover all your drawers & shelves with good quality non slip matting.  I usually get mine from Spotlight.  Our cheap toaster & Jug always sit on them without bouncing/sliding off.  But then we stay on bitumen.

Double propane gas cookers are  the go too.  In a case with hotplate & utensils of course.

See if you can store your sullage & water hoses in conduits fixed underneath the van.

(Have a good look thru the 'Tips & Hints' section of the Forum for lots of good ideas)

Enjoy  ...

Thanks Cupie

your information is much appreciated especially the non slip matting.

We have some of this at home so I will dig it out and use it. I will check out the tips & hints and make a list.

Thanks again

cheers

I lined all the cupboards in our old Jayco Swan with marine carpet, it's been great, stuff travels so well on it & it looks good too, the thin stuff is easy to cut & work with, I'll be doing our next van with the same stuff.
