tasmania trip no van


had 3 nights b@b port sorell used as base

went to launcestion gorge   beaconsfield   deloraine sheffield  (murals painted every where)must see

had 2 nights bicheno

nice spot went visit coles bay nat park wine glass bay

2 nights at taranna  masons cottages

spent most of the day visiting port arthur

4 nights at sandy bay hobart

bruny is was very quite (seasonal)

mt wellington.. southport.. cadbury factory..huon salmon farm

2 nights at strahan

river cruise   ( stopped  at tarrileagh and queenstown on way for cakes )

both these places have plenty of history

had a few hours at zeehan museum worth the time to see

stayed 1 night at tullah 

visited cradle mt done a30 minute walk after getting off the bus

then went north to wynyard .. stanley.then as far west as you could go

stayed at rosebank cottages about 15 ks east of smithton (brilliant)

then visited tulip farm all in full bloom all colours nice small towns across

the top PENGUIN etc

then to launceston 3 nights  went south on day trips to Ross ..Longford ect

raspberry factory another choc factory 

had a bit rain for 2 days  1 puncture( the rest of things very good)

Shut the front gate!!

How good is that Sue and Ray, all great places for sure. I did all those areas Late January-February this year but used Devonport as base camp.

Yep, great place to visit, all those places sound familar, don't know anyone who has been to Tassie, and not really enjoyed it, I have not been there for about 20 years, ? and your post has got me thinking ? It's about time i went back. But just like you, i would do it for 2 to 3 weeks with NO van.

Yeah Dougwe, we got back last friday, still way,way, behind with catching up on everything, ? Have followed your journey with The Colarado, [ bl--dy good choice mate, real good looking unit. still have to see pics of your now 'house' [sic] but your description sounds great,

I am officially retired now, so will have more time to travel. and i will catch you out there in your new home [ Australia ]

By the way ? you said that Wombat has been a real handfull ?  i asked Mrs Wombat if wombat had a ''handfull 'nono 

She Laughed and said well it would have to be a very very Small Hand hmm wink biggrin
