I have just read the closed ampfibian thread and would like to state the following.
The use of a product of approved components to make an ampfibian type of product is covered by AS/NZS3190 which is the RCD standard both fixed and portable and as it contains an RCD it becomes a Declared Article under the Australian Electrical Safety Act and as such the final assembled product must be tested to the standards requirements by a Certified test laboratory and then affixed with an approval number.
There are four testing laboratories in Australia Certified to test to AS/NZS3190 one of which has closed and one of which only tests and approves their own products leaving two remaining and this could then become complicated as they might require all so called approved components used to come with full test reports and compliance certifications before any testing is done due to many fraudulent test reports and certificates in the system and then they may require multiple units to test and charge many thousands of dollars to do the testing and I can assure you that many knocked up units by qualified electricians may not pass testing so the suggestions of use and approvals on same are a pipe dream and totally illegal in the eyes of the different state electrical regulators.

The examples you quote are fixed installations and their installation has been established over the years to be safe if they have been installed by qualified people.
The products under discussion in the previous thread are portable devices. These have to go through a process of certification before they are let loose upon the general public. It also has been established that they have to be approved to the appropriate standard before the equipment can be promoted for a given purpose (as shown by Jaycar being ordered not to promote the cheap models for caravan use.)
