"Coco"

Hi,

Sandy and I are new here and our not so new van is new to us.

So here is "Coco", a 1977 Country Campers "Cabana". She's obviously a geriatric, but so is the tow vehicle , a 1994 2.8 diesel Hi-Ace with 2 thirds of million klms on it.....all put on by me.

These pics was taken just after it arrived home and today we plan on giving her a thorough cleaning and listing all the things we need to do to get her into shape. She has a fully enclosed annex that came with her.

Cheers,

Rob

Welcome Rob.

An interesting design. Could it be the forerunner of the "expanda" type vans?

Gday...

Welcome 02.jpg

Firstly - welcome to the forum Rob - Sundowners.

I had one almost identical to yours back in the 80s. That Cabana followed me to so many places - faithfully and loyally - without a single complaint.

I actually sold it for more than I paid for it 2 years later.

The only "disadvantage" they have is their weight - heavy for their size. But then again - so am I these days

Cheers - and happy, safe and many travels - John

Welcome, Sundowner. Nice to see the oldies still getting about. We have something in common... the side door and screen are exactly the same as those in my old Freeway slide on, and so is the side window. So there ya go.

We had one years ago too, only had one problem on a wet night the chip board floor on the extendable bed got wet
and collapsed in the middle of the night, wife and I used the narrow passageway the rest of the trip with our 4 kids.
We put in a marine ply floor and no more problems.

Hi Sundowners,

The Cabana was our first caravan, nice and easy to set up, we travelled many K's with it and had a wonderful time. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we enjoyed ours:)
