We are planning to head off to Tassy next year in an Avida Eyre. The vehicle is 23ft long and fairly low slung. Has anyone experienced any difficulties loading their motorhome with the varying tides? Kangaroo Island is another ferry ride on the agenda. Hate to be stuck in a see saw position when loading.
We have done both crossing within the last year in a Winnebago Esperance and have not experienced any difficulties with loading the vehicle on either the trip.
You might want to check out TOLL. They run ships from Melbourne to either Devonport or Burnie, and I believe they take MHs and caravans and a few passengers. I can't give you any more detail as I will be checking them out myself early in January. I live in Launceston and travel to Melbourne with my MH every March, so next time I'll be checking TOLL. You would be wise to check with them also as a large vehicle inc. car and caravan will cost an arm and a leg...

Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
the only problem you'll have is the price of taking your Van
cars are heavily subsidised to the point of being FREE - Vans are not, so, when you take your Van you are taking up the space of another vehicle and its occupants...
the night before the trip on the boat we stayed on the Boulevard just down the road... we got there nice and early for boarding but we shouldn't have bothered... you are far better off getting in on the tail end... too many people in a rush and in and out of their damn cars.. our van got damaged because of this rsole opening his door into our van.. .
anyways.. Beautiful place Tassie, half your luck..

Good for a laugh Ralph. Not sure where the photo came from. I think someone sent it to me as part of a joke in an e-mail.. You mean the photo and/or Gorilla is domiciled at Singapore Zoo ?
