Medical certificate for Centrelink

I'm on Newstart and traveling. The girls at Centrelink suggested I ask my gp to fax a medical certificate to them so I wouldn't have to attend their 'help me find a job' interviews. This has worked well for 6 months but my gp says I have to see him or get a certificate from another gp. He's in Perth and I'm in NSW. Has anyone else got a certificate from a gp in another state or do I have to return home. I have until next November until I'm 65. susietwigge.blogspot.com Please don't take your organs when you die. Heaven knows we need them here.

Maybe your GP in Perth at your request could fax a little info to your chosen GP in NSW. Might work. I think I would try that first.

If you have been given a job capacity assessment by centrelink, the medical cert means zip
They say you can work for so many hours, then that is what you have to do.
Even appealing does not help as the reviewers are paid to stop you getting on disability

If you are on Newstart Disabilties, then a new Doctor's certificate is all that is needed. I started with a NSW Dr's certificate, found out last week I had until the 30th of September to get another one. Made a appointment with a local GP, I had a copy of my original certificate so Dr was able to see what was wrong and she just filled out another one for 3 months. I will be back in NSW then and can see my own Doctor again

Im terriffied of how im going to go getting a disability pension when we have sold up
And go travelling as they say its getting worse and worse to get one
Im on a tablet equal to endone now three times a day! They make me tired and forgetful
I also cannot do anything for too long ive been sanding three stairs in our bathroom
For at least four mths because i cant stick to the one thing i have such bad back pain
Ive been put through an mri machine it seems since i had the cancer and they operated
Then i came out with lymphodema !!
The mri showed i have very bad arthritis (im 53) and the lymphodema leg is sending all
The pain into my back because the legs is dead and i cant feel it thats referred pain
They have also damaged the nervous system so if i forget my pills im a blubbering mess
I dont know what we will do if i dont get pensioned off !
However graeme does get the carers payment that for me that is not tax assessed
Its not a lot $118 per fornight but it pays for my drugs ! Someone said if u get
The carers u will pass for the disability pension good lord i hope so because
Once we pay our mortgage out we wont have much to travel with
My encologist said he is going to push as hard as he can for me to be pensioned off
So heres hoping ! We cant go for it till weve sold as we make too much money
