Power requirements to run air con in motorhome

Can someone please advise on level of power required to run an aircon system in a motor home and  need to know level of power required to run them in summer and winter - are they designed to operate on the gennie or the battery and top up during the day with the gennie/solar or what - may sound a bit basic, but this is a new experience for us and prefer to have a full understanding of what lies ahead  rather than just take what the dealer says and find out later that it was correct, but some info was omitted. Our research has taken us on a very steep learning curve and this is one of the final pieces needed to complete the exercise. The short list are RWD models in the the Talvor range, the Avida Esperence, and Jayco Conquest. We are considering increasing the solar capacity.

We just installed an Air Command Ibis onto our M/H and had it running on our 1500w inverter (test only), we also have a 3000w inverter installed to run high power using appliances like our Microwave, washing machine, toaster etc.,

We back our inverters up with 4 x 200ah batteries set up in 24v configuration charged by 600w of solar..

We are happy to run the A/C for short periods (2-3hrs) at a time but wouldn't run it overnight ..

We also have a 20i Honda Genny that we can run it on if needed but hope not use it..

What the minimum requirement is I have NFI, BUT, I wouldn't even consider anything less than 2000w PSW inverter and 300ah of batteries and 250w solar with a 2kva genny as back up.

Thats just my opinion and I am sure someone will come along with more info..

Our motorhome has 400 watts solar 240 amp hr batteries 2500 watt inverter which lets us free camp as long as we like .

the inv erter will run the washing machine coffee machine vacuum cleaner and the microwave for short periods.

we carry a 4.4 kva Fuji generator with remote start for the air conditioner or if we want to use the microwave for a long time

fridge and hot water runs on gas 4kl bottle lasts a week I don't think you would need any bigger system but others might disagree
