I see the Caravan park owner is not happy!

They do need to clean up that caravan park as we were going to stay there when Rod had work in that area, but decided against it and headed out to the Black ****atoo Bush Camp instead.

Typical  caravan park owner, Ned Kelly was a gentleman compaired to some van park owners.

If a van park is grotty or over priced, I drive on to a free camp.

I once went into a park in north Qld and found that the price was too high, with a smile I told the woman that I would find a gravel pit to camp at. She was not impressed.  She missed my money and I saved a nights fee.

The park owner at Penola "is happy if they don`t stay next to the park".  If you stay next to the park or 10 Ks down the road, what the hell does it matter.

On our recent trip we free camped at Kimber SA, it was a better set up than the van park at the road house. I purchased fuel from the road house, so they got some money from me.

I also noted there are donation boxes at these campsites.

Hopefully everyone will put money in, otherwise these sites may not last long.

Perhaps the Caravan park owner might be a smart business man and make his park attractive to the person who intended to park close by and also offer a reasonable price to make it worth their while.
Gee better come back to reality.
Good to see some rest stops in the area might be tempted to go that way in my travels before Easter.
Regards
Brian

I emailed the Mayor and commended him for this positive move that should increase tourism and the $ to the whole community.

There is an interesting link on the council's web site:
