Ants in Birdsville Winnibago

We are invaded by ants. We thought they came in on dog food that we had left out..... That is still a possibility but how do we get rid of them. They seem to just wait in hiding until we go to bed and then they swarm. We are using Ant Rid at present. Does anyone have other ideas please.

mix some boric acid in a small amount of dog food (make sure your dog doesnt eat it)  this should fix the problem

Ant Rid will work, but it can take time. Just persist and you will eventually win.

I had ants in my camper some time ago and used an insecticide bomb. Got rid of the ants and they've never been back. Using a bomb means you need to vacate for a while but it gets into all the nooks and crannies which is important if your rig has a wooden frame like mine. Mind you, at the time, there was nothing in the cupboards.

when I travelled across the Nullarbor on my motorcycle sleeping in swag, I'd leave out a peace offering each night for the ants...

usually the can that I ate tea out of so that they could lick out the scraps and keep away from me... wink

Talon ant killer gel. It is in a syringe and just leave a small line of it across the ant trail. They rush to it and take it back to the nest. It is the only thing I can find that gets rid of them. Tried bombs, ant kill around the wheels (washes off) and sprays. Good luck.

I had ants in the caravan when I first brought it. Tried the baits and other methods mentioned without much success. Then did the same as Gary, used a bomb. Disconnected the gas bottle and removed it.
I didn't have the house batteries fitted then. Opened all the cupboards. Couple of hours later aired it out. Never had ants again.
