When a free camp not a free camp?

When is a free camp not a free camp

We are going away this week  for a month or so biggrin and we thought we go back to Aire River camp .

We called in last Easter no cost . Since June/July ?34 no   And what do you get for $34nono

Free fresh air, peace and tranquility , a chance to fish and of course I nearly forgot NO

WATER, a PIT toilet with doubled sided toilet paper.

I knew we were soon going to be charged ,but perhaps $10 per night to start of with until some

form of Value for your hard earned???disbelief I must admit they did say you can have

6 people on your site and only 1 car allowed.

Guess who's not going there???cry

Regards Lana & Brian

that's a total rip off - $34 is more than most inland caravan parks charge and you get all the facilities. Is there a caravan park nearby who has "convinced" the council to charge this much?

Nothing free about that. Feel "free" to move on to the next one that is closer to what free actually means.

That is just downright Disgusting, $0 - $34.

The Dreaded Parks Victoria has struck again...

Doug, it's $10 to $65 depending on their classification and time of the year..

-- Yes it is a Load of Crap especially as they provide very little for services in some camp sites..

That's where the "free" bit comes in.

You are "free" to move on to another place to camp.

Parks Victoria revised the fees from July 1 2014, the revision generally increased fees where they we're already charging fees and introduced fees for many parks that were previously free: parkweb.vic.gov.au/visit/book-your-stay/changes-to-camping-and-accommodation-fees Fortunately State Forests seem to be unaffected by the revision and continue to allow free camping!
