A search of Google found a couple of Facebook posts (of differing dates) that seem to be the "source".

The Fraser Coast Chronicle article only dispels a few or those listed rules. The rest have been in the Australian Road Rules for yonks. You can download them from here.

If you go to this page you will see the following:

"Do they apply across Australia?

"The Rules have no legislative force of their own. For the most part, each state and territory has copied the Rules into their own laws; however, not every provision of the Rules has been copied exactly in each state and territory. Also, there are a number of provisions in the Rules that specifically leave certain matters to state and territory governments to determine."

You will find that most states incorporate nearly all of these rules in their own legislation. If you learn these rules then and follow them you should be fairly safe anywhere in Oz. For the actual road rules of each state there are links further down the page to download for every state. Download your own states rules, read through them and see how many rules you don't know. And yes you will find most of the list in the OP in your local rules.

Some time ago the RMS published this quiz. How many of these do you know? How many apply in your state?

Depends on whether the copper needs a pinch to bring their tally up.
On the spot fines are designed so you pay up because you don't want to go to court, so you pay on the spot and no one cares whether the fine should have been given or not. They have your money and you wear the points etc if there is any involved.
Been on the end of a copper nearly back to base who was short and fined me for something that I could not have done because if I had done what he accused me off and he was able to get me in the time he did he either had to be able to get his big motor bike to fly over three lanes of traffic or he could fly himself and carried the bike.
He admitted he was interested in buying a vehicle similar and wanted to find out some details and he was going back to base to knock off from his shift. The station was two blocks away.
I had a witness in the car who was prepared to go to court with me but I did not think it was worth the effort , but gee it did change my concept of coppers as before I respected them, but now I consider them to be there to collect money and we are all fair game. They are just revenue collectors for the government even though some do a terrible job that I would not like but I would not sleep at night if I knew I could destoy someones job or live style just so I could reach my total and get my bonus or what ever they get for reaching the total.

I live in SA the cheapest fine here is $300 and up wards. I wish we had those prices down here.

But our government knows best we deserve all these expensive fines and revenue whoops I mean safety cameras.

A mate of mine is a highway patrol cop he says if you don't speed you won't get caught.

I bet him  or any of his cop mates $1000 that they could not drive 10kl.  sticking with the flow of traffic that they  

would go over the speed limit at least 5 times. Guess what I still have my $1000 no takers.

 This is typical of very many posters on forums. You go to the trouble to give the members information or links to find that information. Then they go ahead and post rubbish without checking things.

I have been through the Australian Road Rules and found the appropriate sections. I then went through the Queensland legislation and cross checked most of them. Qld has used the same numbering as the Oz rules and the rules were there with the same wording.

I suggest that you all download the appropriate legislation and study it. There seems to be a serious lack of knowledge of road rules amongst members here.

 Your original story was not implemented. After I pointed out they were in fact implemented you change foot and change your tack. How about you get your story correct in the first place. If you had have it would have saved me a long reply.
