Love it.

Those same do-gooders are messing with our values now..

I dislike progressive liberals a lot.

Cloak I am 100% with you!!!

However I was about sixteen living in the middle of nowhere when with a few other local lads decided to spend a couple of days in an old building, no roof,no windows or doors just stone walls and try living off the land for a bit.

Well guess who made a crude bomb from black powder and tossed it into the fire late one night once of course everyone was drunk? Heheheh . Great training for the rest of my life!

My mate was standing around a camp fire  One drunk thru on some petrol for a laugh.  my mate spent 4 months in hospital with external & internal burns, then died. It seemed funny at the time   Daz

Another of those "good old day's" stories about things that never where and/or fail to mention a whole stack of "bad old days" stuff. I wasn't alive in 1945 but the stories my parents told me were horrific enough. Personally I prefer today and I reckon those "do gooders" (whoever they are) have, on balance have brought about a much better and much fairer society.

The original post was part joke and part fact. I'm sure a lot of bad things happened way back, but not like today. I was born in 1941, and while I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning !! biggrin I do remember those earlier years. One thing that sticks in my mind is crime. When I was a young kid, we had no serious crime. Doors were left unlocked, keys left in the car. And we had a few "Do Gooders" but no one really took much notice. A fairer society you say, I can't really comment on that but I do now that today, even in Tasmania, you have to lock your doors, lock your car and if you go out at night, you're always looking over your shoulder for some punk who will stick a knife in you to get a few Dollars. Regretably, times have changed dramatically  since 1945...

I do miss the great cracker nights and bonfires. The kids of today are missing out on a lot of things thanks to the do gooders and big brother.furious
