Hi Everyone, We are going to have a look at a 2011 lt-r diesel auto Colorado. Has anyone had one or have one and they would like to share your experience with us. would be much appreciated. cheers.
I've got the 2011 Colorado and find it's great with the Isuzu Diesel. Auto is 4 Speed and I tow a 2.4 Tonne van (loaded) in top gear. They're not the highest torque ute out there but ours has never let us down, and they get better as the mileage increases. I would recommend you upgrade the shocks and have the rear springs re cambered as the vehicle tends to sit on the load leaves with a Van on the back. Can get a bit uncomfortable. Mine didn't cost too much to do here in Adelaide. You can also improve the economy by fitting free wheel hubs by around 1L/100Km.
Not the 2011 but if it is anything like the current model that I have you are in for a treat. There has been a few improvements but I would say over all not a lot of difference in performance. Great tug.

Not the same as what you are asking about I've been driving a rental 2011 single cab Colorado manual which has the 2.8 diesel....found it's pretty sluggish till it hits about 2500 revs and then it really puts the boot in but I'm told that's pretty normal for turbo diesels. Seats are good and controls pretty standard. I did not like the convex side mirrors which distort especially at night - possibly you can get used to them.
thanks everyone. it is always great when people reply. our next van will be at least 2400 to 2500 and then the load on top so not sure if this car will be too small - torque wise and maybe even towing wise. buying a 4x4 has turned out to be much harder than buying a little runabout car. there are soooo many things to consider. but hey, in the end I am going to be "an expert". cheers everyone. rocket.
Hi rocket..
We currently towing a State Wide Elite with a 2013 Isuzu Dmax and It is superb. Check the towing cap of the Colorado I think it is less than you want.
Our Dmax tows 3t with no worries. Going up the Hawksbury on the M1 we were sitting on 100k and never looked like slowing down. Brand new it was 10k cheaper than the Toyota of the same luxury level. Service periods are every 12 months......yes 12 months. Current model Dmax tows 3.5 t with 350 kg on the tow bar.
Our van is 20.5 ft long weighs 2.8 loaded and we do not need load levellers or bars on it. It sits flat and tows easily. Currently on tour we are getting 12.5 litres per 100.
When not towing we get 800 k around town and 1000 k on a trip.
Simply brilliant tug .
im a car dealer and don't be confused that the colarado is still the same as an Isuzu d max as it is not,the 2.8 is a fiat motor and you are much better off with the Isuzu!
