We are planing a trip to Innamincka next year and we are wondering what is the best time of year to go there for fishing. we've also heard that motorised boats are not allowed on the Cooper Creek? can someone help me with some information on this?
We were out there in June this year and it was bl***dy cold particularly at night, then again in late spring/summer it will be stinking hot - can't win.
There were quite a few catching fish off the bank and they weren't bad fish either, and as Pete says he would rather cook the fish in winter than try and cope with swarms of flies in the warmer months.
Not sure about the boat situation, but again Pete says he had heard about no motorised boats on the Cooper, but was unsure if maybe you could use an electric motor.
But lets face it, even though it was chilly, what a fantastic serene place to camp.
As you can see from 3rd photo, we were camped right on the bank at the Town Common for $5/nt.
Will try and add a photo or two if I can. Any other info you would like let us know and we will pass on what we can.
PS. Funny from Pete - why not drop the fish a line and ask them when they are likely to be biting!!!!
