In use of this forum

Hi all fellow wanderers.

I have been reading a few closed subjects regarding stuff that we can get hell passionate over. Fair enough lets get passionate.

As I read on (in quite a few topics) I noticed the language started to attack and put down the OP. I inhabit the more technical side of this blog, most of the time it is good and we can all learn from each other. BUT lets stop putting each other down and quit the pissing competitions. If something is said wrong, fine, make a correction BUT please stop the personal attacks!

Im sorry folks but in my mind that is not why we have this forum, yes lets express opinions and talk frankly and openly HOWEVER when it starts to get personal then its time to examin why you are on this forum, and perhaps pack up and get out!

I know they are strong words, but for pity sake lets have a forum that we can all enjoy without the personal attacks.

Rant over....furious Sorry about the language Cindy...

Agree Phill,

I often wonder how many members read the Forum rules or forget what is in them.

Here's a refresher for everyone, doesn't hurt to read them again (including me).

Phil, I agree completely with what you say.

And I hope I am not one of the attackers, I know I get a bit techie from time to time, but that is just the way I am, I am never trying to put anyone down.

True, I have noted a few threads closed over the years for personal attacks, but very few. Once I start to read that s h i t e I stop reading. Most threads are closed, from my notation, because they start to get heavily into the realm of religion or politics.. As an Atheist and one who doesn't vote, I don't get into those subjects anyway !!!

I know of members who have deleted their membership after being attacked by those who have different views .... If we cant respect others views and opinions in a polite and constructive way, then we should not participate in the topic .... Just saying!

I try and like everyone and have some fun along the way. I don't hold grudges either.

A good laugh even at a sick joke or comment is healthy. Much better than being down in the dumps and I tell you that for free.

I went to play cards in a group today (U3A) & one the ladies there was sniping at another lady. being a real Bi--ch I thought so I said hey lets all be friendly here. She was actually making me feel uncomfortable. Anyway she did stop it & the afternoon went on then ok. I can't stand nastiness. no need for it. So that's my rant for today.

I finally tracked' it' down...thanks for the heads up Sheba....I've never spent so much time to try and be offended.....I now see some fairly harmless Aussie Larrikinism......without some degree of Larrikinism, I suggest we run a very real risk of becoming an exclusive " Old boys and girls" Club sitting in comfortable Chesterfields...tut ..tutting...I never saw' it' because I don't read threads that don't interest me.....live and let live..in 10 years how many of us will care or even be here?.......Hoo Roo

I agree mate,I can be blunt at times but I try to mix it up with a bit of good old Aussie Larrinkinism, and i hope facts.

I stayed away from a forum that I was involved in for many years. because of attacks on my spelling. I do have a issue with the spelling and grammar police,

I have already had that on this forum and it is disappointing, I have mild dyslexia and sometime the words are a bit mixed up no but they are close biggrinbiggrin.

like you said Phil a spirited debate is great, but the use of Emoticons in the correct place can turn what seems to be an inslut into a bit a of joke, a friendly dig if you like.

Although I am only new here I am really enjoying the poeple here, and the sense of the ridiculous biggrin

If I do step out of line please let me know with a PM. I can take it

Cheers

You people rock my world.. The responses to the OP are fantastic and have tickled some ribs.

When's all said and done, this is about fun, learning and a little taking the piss out of each other (in fun).

I can not abide by political jokes (there are way too many of them in this country already) or religion. Sex on the other hand should be openly discussed... oopppsss

I can not handle political correctness a spade is a bloody spade not an agricultural implement.

Thanks all for sharing, there are only a few outside this blog that screw it up and leave bad tastes in mouths.

BTW Dougwe, gave up flying a long time ago, arms hurt way too much, BUT will still crack a stubby with any of you any day.

Safe travels
