Doug, it is true what Wombat says, you do need your eyes tested.

I believe the sign on the back says "Supreme", not sure about the car, initially thought it was a Ford Territory, but now I think it might be a VW or related vehicle.

It's not just about where the water tanks are sitting .. its also about the overall balance involved .. not all vans have the dual axles in the same position either .. some are further forward than others ..

lots to consider .. especially how much you want to carry in it and still keep it all legal ..  and where to pack it .. you're gonna love it ! .. hehe !

I'd like to hear the true facts re the accident before I'd comment about the cause ..

 

Thanks for that Jon. I'm getting confused enough now. I have only been back at base camp a couple of hours and things are starting to move along already with CV's and selling base camp. Gee I was going to do it slowly but looks like that's not going to happen.

Will be looking at a "Retreat" and "Gold Star" over the next two weeks and whatever else I look at as well. Phew! I'm confused just thinking about it.

It was a Supreme van being taken by a staff member to a show. So it would not have been carrying the usual weight of a loaded van.

Billeeeeeeeeeeee,,, stay excited (as you say - I don't want to steal your thunder/lines)  BUT if looking for a new van I suggest you start by crawling under them first, have a good look at the layout, quality of workmanship, are thing accessible if you have to change/repair things. Then get up and write down good/bad points.

Then walk around outside doing the same ie TV outlet positions, 12 plugs, BBQ or tables etc etc and check quality and workmanship. Whatever features you see as important. Write things down again.

If you THEN if you think the van is worth looking at inside ,,, go ahead. Write things down.

Go away and think about what you've written down and go back and talk to the person who knows what is what (often NOT the salesman). The workshop, production manager or even the storeman (he can tell you what fails under warranty often).

When we were looking at vans you have no idea how many people asked me what I was doing under the van????

When I explained they were surprised as it seems many buy without even a glance anywhere except inside.

Just some tips that may help. The writing things down sure does sort the wheat from the chaff, and remember BE CRITICAL IN YOUR ANALYSIS,,, BEFORE YOU SPEND THE $$$$$$$$$$$$.
