Being somewhat nosey, I looked around the Internet and found the video of the beheading of the American Journalist. The upload to YouTube was removed but it can still be found. My response is to the USA. "Mr. Obama, send in more bombers. Wipe this scum off the face of the earth. Don't stop until the last one is dead." I hope this post is not deleted. It's not about politics or religion, but about a subject that should concern us all greatly, the concern for our grand children. We don't want them growing up in a world being overtaken by barbarism. That's why it's important the U. N. and our Governments act now to eradicate this vermin....

I couldn't agree more, they are just showing what they stand for, and I hope the US air strikes knock off ALL of those who have gone overseas to fight with these terrorists for their so called cause.
I agree with the sentiments of the rest of you, but we need to remember this is not all Muslims. I have known and worked with some very decent and hard working one's who would be just as disgusted with this as we are,and probably more so. Landy

That's exactly what I was saying Cloak. The true followers of Islam are going to be tarred with the same brush, because too many Westerners don't know the difference.
It sounds as though you do though landy. Good on you.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Snip..... I'm observing a global intolerance of all Islamic nonsense.
Trouble is Cloak, it's not nonsense. It's going to affect us all if something is not done, and soon. Look at poor old England even no go areas because Sharia laws are acknowledged, and not just England either.

It is sad to see that people believe that the only appropriate response to horrific violence is even more violence. Comments such as "Bring back the crusades" (when in fact the Crusades make IS appear as a bunch of pacifist tree huggers) and "Mr. Obama, send in more bombers. Wipe this scum off the face of the earth. Don't stop until the last one is dead." are scary. These options have failed to work in the past and will continue to fail into the future. They have made our world more not less dangerous, generated fear where none previously existed, created wholesale humanitarian crisis's that has rendered international welfare agencies impotent and have provided a basis for governments to trample over human rights and invade our privacy all in the name of the "war against terrorism". Whole swaths of people have been discriminated against and alienated because of their religious beliefs and/or physical appearance and it is this that has created the problem in the first place. Continuing this approach will create an ever expanding spiral of violence that fails to resolve the problems or produce a sustainable solutions.
The basis of these problems are complex and have many historical and cultural antecedents that we are unaware of and which will not be resolved by the simplistic proposals contained in this thread. Rather, we should be reaching out to those who are less extreme. We should be bolstering those who seek to moderate the violence and views of those who dominate our television. We should also acknowledge our history of religious and cultural intolerance and of the horrific events that ensued from that (much of which involved Muslims from the middle east).
Violence as a response to violence is only sustainable in the short term. Ultimately, long term solutions require diplomacy and negotiation; recognition and acceptance of differences; and the development of settlements that all can live with.
There is no negotiation, recognition and acceptance etc with these terrorist extremists, they are beyond that, they will only be satisfied with world domination and acceptance of their radical version of their religion and the extermination of those who do not accept it.
To believe otherwise will prove to be folly IMHO.

It is sad and I agree that on most occasions, diplomacy is the answer. But not always. Take Russia and Ukraine, not a good example of diplomacy working. Yes, and I agree that these problems are complex and have many historical and cultural antecedents that we are unaware of, but we are dealing here with radical extremists that have one goal, to take over the world. How do you negotiate with people with those ideals ? Another example is Israel and Hamas. Hamas have stated publicly on several occasions they do not recognize Israel's right to exist. They plant rocket launchers and ordinance in Schools, Mosques, residential areas then cry out that Israel is killing their children and people. There is one simple answer. Stop firing rockets into Israel and the Israeli attacks stop. I'm afraid to say that the only way to stop these monsters in Iraq and Syria is to wipe them out...

I would feel the same way Landy, if the "peacefull" Muslims would actively help in the hunt for the not so decent ones. I have never heard of a Muslim group capturing and handing over a terrorist to the authorities.
