New caravan which windows are the preferred ones

We are getting a new van built and looking at this forum and looking at windows in the van we can't decide which ones to go for. It has been suggested to put in the Dometic  Zeitz . We weren't really impressed with any of them. The other option is the older style wind out ones but they are only single glazed and it was suggested that they would make the van look old. Any thoughts or advice much appreciated

you need double glazed windows with the slide up/down blinds that have the silver insulation towards the outside..

also the double glazed sun roofs..

We have double glazed with the complete block out blinds. We love them! Not only does it cut down on noise but the blind cut out the light. We have still fitted light curtains, as when the blinds are open you can see straight through without them. My sister had wind out windows in her van and found that they got water leaks through the winder mechanism.
Good luck!

If the blinds are up to block the light out you can't get any air in through the windows.

Also don't like having to drop the insect screen to shut/adjust the windows from inside the van.

I am with you ParamountCruiser.

I like my air flow and have found in a friends van, that when that privacy blind is up you don't get any.  The same with the European hatches in the roof - close the sunscreen and any ventilation coming in through there disappears. cry

We have wind out windows (Aussie Traveler) that look modern and are double glazed. Flyscreens are permanently fixed and cannot be opened (important when traveling with a bird) and we have wind down blinds that do a pretty good job at keeping out the light while allowing some air movement through the van.
