Caravaners on the move

Last weekend I traveled from the Sunshine Coast to Bundaburg for a wedding. During the three and a half to four hour trip we lost track of how many vans we passed after we counted to 50 vans. I didn't start counting till I was nearly to Gympie and only then because I started to notice that we were passing them quite regularly.

But even more fascinating was that there was nearly as many were heading in a northerly direction when we were coming home as there were heading in a southerly direction when we were heading north.

Just gives me itchy feet to get our van out and get on the road

On a run to Perth in the road train at xmas last year my two up driver and myself decided to count how many caravans and motor homes and camper trailers, we seen I am sure we missed a few bit from brissy to Perth and home via Adelaide we counted 1368. That is a six day turn around  there is a lot out there and that is good to see people enjoying our great country

Cheers

I agree Jenzari, I left Townsville two weeks ago and have been continually surprised the 1000's of CV's or similar on the move but extremely surprised the amount southward bound. I thought I would have the south bound lanes to myself, but, no, no way. You have to be on the move with the sparrow's as they get up, otherwise heaps of hold ups.

Couldn't agree more, we have seen quite a lot whilst wandering our way through NW NSW.

We did a couple of trips to Coffs last week to get some gear for the new motorhome we are putting together and I could believe the number of van on the road..

More surprising is the number that didn't have extension mirrors on and had NO chance of seeing what was going on behind them..crycry

What surprises us Bob, is the number of vannies that don't think sway/stabiliser bars are necessary!!
