CHARTERS TOWERS

Well we are almost ready for our first trip in the caravan.  Heading from Proserpine to Townsville on Friday to spend the weekend with our daughter and then heading out westwards before heading back to Proserpine.  Any recommendations for parks to stay in around Charters Towers - need powered sites as this stage as our solar wont be ready in time.

Has anyone stayed at Molongle Beach - thinking of a night or two there on the way back - only short runs for this first trip.

We stay at the Aussie Oasis Van Park.
Very clean and well maintained.

Cheers

You could go to Bivouac Junction, nice park, power and water, no bells and whistles, clean toots and showers and CHEAP.

About 20km Townsville side of Charteres Towers, Flinders Highway on the right going from Townsville. Dirt road but no probs. Very friendly mob there. Just take care as you get of the highway as there might be some silly old moos crossing.

Dalrymple CP in Charters Towers is good. They have very nice ensuite sites as well as normal powered ones.
