 Excerpt from Herald Sun:

Patrick has outlived other wild wombats of his kind by about 63 years and been alive to see sixteen Australian prime ministers.

Now Patrick spends his days frolicking in his den and being ferried about the W. A.  Wildlife Park in a wheelbarrow, much to the delight of visitors.

Weighing in at a gumleaf over 138kg Patrick lives a life of luxury.

Gday...

Wry Smile.png

I guess I need to explain. The purpose for posting the link to the Herald Sun news article in the original post had nothing to do with the actual first name of OUR wombat.

Indeed it had nothing to do with OUR wombat at all actually. It was simply meant to be a humourous article posing the improbable question that the wombat in the article may have been OUR wombat.

To be fair, I do realise the wombat in the article was not OUR wombat, because, in reality, OUR wombat is indeed NOT a wombat but a human.

Sorry that the thread subject confused but I mistakenly thought it would be seen for what it was - a news article about a real wombat that could be attributed, with a wry smile, to the celebrity of OUR wombat.

I must be more thoughtful in how I word subject titles and threads - I seem to not convey the intent of posts so often.

Cheers - John

I'm sure we all realize that John. But the thread has created a bit of fun and in my post about the excerpt, I altered the weight, age and W.A. which I think added to the fun.  I'm sure Wombat is enjoying the thread also. I've always believed that some of the best humor is when you can laugh at yourself !!

True but it takes a lot of skill.

I visited a friend some years back who had a Microsoft Flight Sim program, and when I arrived he was taxing a B737 for take off.  He was a B747 Captain also. I had a laugh at him and he asked me if I wanted a go. I thought that if I can command a 747, this would be a piece of cake. So after much difficulty in keeping the aircraft on the center line on the take off run, I finally got it off the  deck only to get airborne, lose control, did a full unintended barrel roll then the aircraft crashed into a building past the end of the runway and all ended up in flames... No prize if you can guess who was laughing then. Those little computer games are a lot different to the real thing !!
