Just wondering if anyone else has a Ford Territory for towing purposes and if you have added extending towing mirrors. Our dealer told us we don't need them as the original mirrors are flexible enough to be able to see safely.
We have a Territory and have the extended mirrors ... We only tow a camper and strongly recommend the extended mirror ...mmuch better vision down side of van and further.

I would not believe the salesman and it is your safety on the road.
I towed with a territory and pop top van for 3 years and over 25k klms and after trying two other brands of mirrors would not go past Aussie Trucks mirrors. Stable and plenty of vision behind.
We have a new Territory (used to have a Falcon Wgn) and use the ORA brand of towing mirrors. They are excellent and will give you extra and saver rear vision. We tow a Avan Erin MK2 17'3" Pop Top. Used to have strap ons a few years ago, but the road trains used to blow the whole mirror assembly onto the drivers window (would not recommend them).
We have a Territory and are 13000km into our lap around the block. We tow an Avan Cruiser (see avatar) which is a hard sided camper - we use NO extension mirrors because with the standard mirrors we can see down both sides. I have no trouble at all reversing into van sites or knowing if I have a vehiocle behoind me.
We tried strap on ones which were slightly convex andf not clear, then Aussie truck mirrors which are enormous and a pain when driving into a service station or trying to get close to a boom gate keypad etc. They are both in my shed gathering dust till I can sell them.
So my advice is to try driving it without mirrors....if you can see down the sides then that is the best you will get. Mirrors that stick out 250mm or so still cannot see the back of your trailer....only the sides!
No mirrors means no fitting hassles or worry about wiping them off plus they are there already so no cost.
Good Luck.
I do not tow with a Territory, but have tried a few combinations of mirror, they either vibrated (strap on) or fell off (the clip on Milenco).
The problem with the Milenco is a tapered edge on the standard mirror housing, other than that they are great, so I canibalised a cheap Aldi set, and now have Milnco mirrors with a rubber strap holding them forward. Problem solved no vibration, and they are still there.
