Jayco Starcraft

Hi all

We are looking a buying a van for our lap and have been looking at second hand. Today however we went to our Jayco dealer to look at a van that had been traded in (I know.. silly thing to do) and saw the Starcraft 16ft which is not too far out of our price range.  Have any members had any experience or know any points good or bad regarding this Jayco model?

Many thanks...looking forward to our travels!!

Hullo Millar family, best wishes with this process as it can have you asking all sorts of questions.

I don't know what you plan to tow your van with, but the StarCraft range are lighter for similar vans than the others in the Jayco Range. They are ok, much cheaper than other brands, we had a few little problems with ours, nothing very serious.

Don't have that model but we love our Jayco Starcraft.
We had a few glitches (leaking window, leaking tap) and they were fixed no problem by Jayco.
We had another problem when out of warrantee and they fixed it for free.

Hello Millar family, Welcome to the playground.

We have a jayco starcraft 1999 and we love it. I am told by other travellers that these models were built better than the newer ones. I do not know if this is true as I have not had a newer one. I can only go on my experience and no problems here. I guess with any appliance whether it be in your home or caravan will only last for so long. We have replaced fridge. When checking fridge make sure if it is cold, that it is the whole fridge that is getting cold and not just the freezer section making the rest of the fridge cold. We tested this out by putting apple in bottom shelf and went back next day. Very well made. We also liked the idea of an aluminium frame because ours has sat for long periods in our yard and termites love wood. have fun choosing. rocket
