Hello our round trip From Echuca to Charleville ,St George,to Echuca.Via Lightning Ridge etc was wonderful .Albeit cut short due to our needs as G/parents and being reqd in melb for caretaking duties for a sickie, but thats what we do isn,t it .! We did 800 kays today from the Ridge to a tiny town called Goolgowi near Hay .We stayed here last year ,its a council park with pristine ammenities and for $22.50 its a bargain .Best part is you have to go to the pub to book in ! Er hello thats the Pub !! I mean really ,we arrived at the park on dusk and you make yourself at home with power and water .then go to the pub and sign in .....sounds easy ....wrong ! its friday night so its fresh pizza night ! so we stay ,plus its raffle night too ,bugger, were in ! Well fair dinkum the pizza was huge and we had a gutfull of grog and 800 kays under the belt, we are shagged out .So as we speak I type just prior to hitting the cot and the barman will ring me if we win a prize . What a great way to finish a journey .just over 3000 kays and my new Mc hitch etc was fabulous, the mirror stayed in place and the new parks were wonderful. But most importantly was we we spent a ****load of money into small towns that could do with a Quid! and that makes us feel good about us .THE END John and Heather .

P.S The lady has just rang from the pub next door to say that we have won the big meat raffle ! So life is good .Now I have to go back to the pub without my wife and collect the meat ..... I feel a headache ensuing ! Cheers John

So glad you enjoyed the trip and yes a great way to finish. The way you signed of with "THE END" sounds very final, hope you will stay in contact with us all. I am sure you learnt some valuable stuff and found some incredible places that you could share.

You have had a great trip for sure John and Heather and all worked as you wanted. Good to see a good report about the "Mc Hitch" too. I reckon one will find it's way on front of whatever my new den is for sure. It was great following your journey.

What you describe is why we bought a van, the ability to get out of the city, visit some real communities (cities don't have communities anymore, you are just part of an economy), meet real people, and just have a great time.
