Let the wind blow and the rain pelt down!

Hi all

We found ourselves in a terrible situation last winter. We were at Mt Barker in the Adelaide hills. It rained all night, came out to the annex in the morning to discover a swimming pool had taken up residence on our awning, a huge bulge of water over 16 feet of awning, probably 300 litres of water... YIPES!!!

The solution was an old Boy Scout trick. Rafters UNDER the awning and "guy" straps over the top.

Works a treat. See pics

BTW with serious arthritis and a recent total knee replacement belting in tent pegs sux the big ones, so I use a rattle gun and 200mm coach bolts from Bunnings. Works a treat even in hard ground.

That sure looks "The Ducks Guts". Well done.
Love the camo straps. My day is not complete without a bit of camo.

Thanks Chopit.

You weren't meant to see the camo.. obviously I got ripped off. Unfortunately they were the only "colour" I could get in 9 meter straps.

I havnt heard "ducks guts" for ages, made me smile. smile

Safe travels

hahaha.. love the Duck's Guts reference... but the camo straps stick out like dog's... Hmmm
Funny thing is, there used to be a pub here in Newcastle that was a cross between the both of them called "The Duck's Nuts Hotel" ....

Ahhhhh memories...

Bad troopy Bad... they do stick out a lot... so much for camo, as I said its the only "colour" I could get.

Dont use them any more as the tie downs and rafters work a treat.

Cheers
