From my limited knowledge, this is one of a number of such documents CMCA provide with their submissions highlighting the need for free camping areas and facilities for GN travellers.

Some very interesting stats.
Definitely a need for more low cost sites for this growing number of self contained vans.
If you Google "The Caravan Club setting up certified locations" a UK organisation, this shows just the type of locations such a low cost farm, pub, country town sites that have been set up over many years in the UK. We could do with more like these over here.
Perhaps the large caravan organisations could get together to come up with something like this, it could also provide a small but useful supplementary income for our farming community as well.

CMCA are already have a list of sites offered by members to other members, to stay on farms or other locations, this has only been operating for a short time and there are already 45 locations on offer to members of CMCA throughout Australia, some are just overnight and some longer periods of time, to take these offers up you only have to become a member.

I really do appreciate the work done by CMCA but, it is limited in its focus by the fact it excludes a very large portion of the grey nomad population from its membership. I am a member of CCA which does not have any such exclusions and is fighting the good fight for the grey nomad also. Neither of these organisations or those of similar aims can have much of a voice without membership. Are you a member of such an organisation? Are you concerned enough to give them the support they need to fight the opposition?
The Caravan Club in the UK has about 300,000 members. If you google "the caravan club setting up certified locations" you will see what a good organisation with a lot of members can do. They have 2500 certified locations which are generally farm stays pub and country town facilities. Most are basic of water and dump point only but that is all a self contained van needs or wants.
It would be good if the CCA and the CMCA could work together on this and make this happen in Australia.
If joining one of these club will help perhaps we should all join.
Cheers
