I have a 100 watt modified sine wave inverter. would that be big enough to run a double bed duel control electric blanket off a 110 amp deep cycle battery with a 120 watt solar panel on the roof of my van?. I have also been looking at a 300 watt pure sine wave inverter from super cheap for $149.00 but I seem to remember something on this forum about running more than 1 plug in item off an inverter. I am an avid reader of the forum but rarely contribute.
Check the wattage of the blanket, that will determine what size inverter you need but, I would think the 100W would be ok for one of the lower wattage units
It is OK to connect multiple class 2 appliances have a 2pin plug
Just ensure every thing is kept in good condition
The safety recommendation of only ONE applies to class 1 appliances /devices , Class 1 have 3pin plugs
There will be efficiency losses using an inverter have you consideref looking at 12V blankets

We have a new sunbeam electric blanket and its 150W, so the 100W inverter would struggle, if yours is similar wattage. Im not too sure if a modified sine wave would be compatible with some of the electronics as well, the modern blankets use SCRs or Triacs and the modified sine wave may mess up the firing angles etc (just a bit of techo jargon to make me sound smart.) The battery set up sounds OK to keep you warm as the blanket cycles on and off.
The 300W pure sine wave may cut the mustard, I like to have a bit of head room so maybe a 500W or even 1000W would be good. Ebay have some good bargains, however be very careful of electrical items from China, they may not have approval from Australia.
However, if it works, all power to you.
Safe travels

Thanks for you replies I will try the 100 watt inverter and see how it goes . the blanket is not a new one so I might be ok. If not I will look at a larger inverter. I don't have enough time to buy on ebay. We are leaving Sunday for 3 months, heading to the west.
Interesting I didn't know they had 12v electric blankets, That would be a better option for the OP I would think.
