Bungle Bungles (Purnululu)

Went for a flight over the Bungles, Lake Argyle, Ord River and the Argyle Diamond Mine today - fantastic - 7 seater plane - goodDSC01654.JPGDSC01670.JPGDSC01693.JPG day for a flight - though a bit bumpy due to the undulating nature of the country.

Have been into the Bungles before, and to Lake Argyle - but to see them from the air is amazing - the lake is huge - 80 times the water in Sydney Harbour - and the Bungles are over a large area, which you just can't judge from the ground.  So glad we did this trip.

Welcome back Keith and Alice - enjoy Cairns - nice to have something and somewhere nice after a trip away!

Gerty Dancer - we did the trip from from Kununurra - we stayed at the Showgrounds (closed for the show about 12th July, for a week), a bus picked us up across the road, and dropped us back. It was with Kingfisher Tours, booked through the Visitors Info centre, but apparently if you go to the Saturday market, you can get a discount if you book and pay there.

Moama John - we did the Purnululu Explorer - Flight time - 2 hours, daily. Cost - Adult $350 - Senior $330 - Child $300.

Ken - loved the flight!

Barrie - the helicopter would have been great, but we feel we saw enough on this tour.

Gary - troppo just about covers it!

And the Bungle Bungles (Purnululu) is an amazing place, from the ground or the air!

Chopper flight for two over the Bungles, 45 minutes was $900.00 but well worth it. Would have been 3 but my boy said "I'm not flying in a chopper powered by a bl**dy rubber band"
