Daintree caravan parks

We have just completed the trek from Brisbane to Cairns and plan to tour the Daintree next weekend. Can any of you experienced travellers recommend good places with reasonable size sites in the Daintree.

I was in the Daintree during my round Australia Trip in 2012 and this is a report from Daintree Village.        Riverview Caravan Park

A couple of years ago we stayed at " Cape Tribulation Camping". It wasn't expensive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

August last year we stayed in the Daintree caravan park right in the village. There are two levels, we were put down the bottom in the paddock, had plenty of room, power was run down from up above, I don't think we had water, but were OK for two nights. $30 a night though, but for there I guess not too bad a price. We've paid more for less!

It was nice, right on the river, shops and restaurant right there, and we had a boat ride so we could say we've been on the Daintree.

To get to the amenities we had to climb a stairway up the bank, bit of a drag, but with the on board loo we managed, and was worth it for the experience to visit that region.

I think there are other cara pks there, but we arrived on short notice and just phoned ahead that morning to get a spot.

If you want a caravan park north of the Daintree River, you will need to cross on the ferry - there is a fee. I only know of the caravan park at Cape Tribulation but have not stayed there. We have stayed at Wonga Beach and found that really good - there are 2 parks to choose from. We just did a couple of day trips on the ferry across to see the sights on the northern side of the river.
