Computer pop ups

Can anyone help here, I have a recently bought new laptop, it came with windows 8. Now I've got the hang of using that from previously using XP.

However I keep getting  annoying pop ups, every time I open a new page I have to delete several pop ups.

I run explorer and Google Chrome.

Google chrome is an insipid and nosy browser. try firefox for a better and less invasive system.

I'm not sure about Chrome but in Firefox you need to goto :- Tools-Options-Content and tick Block Popups..

Hi Folks ..

I won't go into detail .. but for a lot of my solutions I've found this site most helpful ..

http://www.techsupportalert.com/

Use the search function .. lots of reading to keep you occupied  .. I run Firefox on Windows 7 and its served me well ..

Agree with Bob, download and install Firefox, then set up popup blocker and adblock, works a treat, I simply don't see ads.

As someone else remarked Chrome is very intrusive, Google collect all sorts of info about your browsing habits, tried it once, never again.

I'm sure you should already have it ? Add blocker just needs to be activated.. Yes I've lost some features that I used on XP . More the point getting us to working with it!!
