We left Berri and arrived in Morgan early around 10 30 and stayed in the caravan park on the river we did washing and charged every thing up as this was the end of our trip we only stayed one night as we had been here a couple of times before. Next morning we started for home and travelled to Merbein where we stayed at the free camp on the river Merbein Common this is a very good camp with new toilets and large flat area to camp on. After an over night stay we went to Mildura and filled with fuel and said good bye to our friends Alan & Phyllis, they headed one way towards Ballarat and we headed the other way through Hay to W est WYolong it rained most of the day with thunder and lightening and very heavy showers at times. It was dark when we arrived in West Wylong so we stayed in the caravan park, next day with sun shining we drove up through Dubbo to Dunnidoo and onto Tamworth where we stayed in the caravan park for the night. Our final day was from Tamworth to the Gold Coast.
Hi Dragonfly1, Ive been reading your updates but you've cut your story a bit short for me. We sometimes use the New England Hwy when travelling up to Tweed Heads and Bundaberg because we have kids at Windsor N.S.W. What roads (hways) do you use to get from Tamworth to Gold Coast. For me the options seem to be Oxley,Gwydir or Bruxner. Or is there, in your opinion, a better way.
Hi! Friar
We travelled up the New England Highway to,Tenterfield then went across the Bruxner Highway to Casino and Lismore, this is a terrible road and I find it better to take the New England highway to,Warrick then the Cunningham highway to Ipswich, then down the freeway, this way is quicker
