Jurgens Customer Service

Today we picked up our Jurgens Tooradin van from Jurgens.  We took it back for some minor additions.

Such a refreshing difference.  All work was carried out professionally and in a timely manner.  We are thrilled to bits.  Thank you so much to Paul Cotch and Anthony Assaw for making our Jurgens experience wonderful.

Recently I have had first hand experience of another manufacturer's management of numerous warranty items on a brand new, unused van which cost in excess of $80,000, purchased by my sister.

In all, over 50 items needed rectification.  These items were handled over several return trips, with the manufacturer losing interest with each visit.

Sometimes I think we should give credit where credit is due.

Thumbs up to Jurgens!

Congratulations DMBM , went to the Pakenham factory where they are manufactured and everyone there were so nice and helpful and absolutely love their vans . I am so envious of you but very happy for you as well . Good to read your great report wish it was me .... maybe one day can always dream . Going to visit a sales yard one day to see if that dream can possibly come true . Enjoy your Jurgen and kind regards Sherbert .

Agree 100% give PUBLIC CREDIT WHERE DUE and this is one of those instances.

I agree. Giving credit where credit is due may also inspire other manufacturers to lift their game. Happy camping!

Congrats on your new van. Something in your post is not quiet clear. Our experience in the past has been that it's not the manufacturer that is misbehaving but the dealer. Was your good experience with the dealer or the manufacturer?

Interesting that Larry, an ex long serving salesman selling vans from one particular manufacturer told me that this manufacturer gave the dealers a small amount of money each year (a couple of thousand I think it was) to fix minor small warranty items and if the dealer did not use it they got to keep it, so there was a reluctance on behalf of the dealers to spend this money on a small fix, often blaming the customer for abuse of the particular product in order to put them off.   Major faults were paid for by the factory.

I am not sure about other manufacturers and dealers and how they operate though.

Hi Larry,

We dealt with Jurgens themselves.  Our dealer is in another state.

New van July 2014, 14 faults on delivery, has been in dealers yard for nearly 19 weeks of its 26 week life and parts still not here from South Africa and NO indication as to when or if they will arrive.

Good to hear that some have had some service satisfaction. Love the van but warranty service needs to get real.

Replace the van or fix and return it.

Parts finally arrived by ship and repairs carried out today 01-04-2015,  8 months since reported on purchase date end of July 2014.  The repairs are very good and ceiling looks like it should have on delivery.

Still have fridge fault and leaking toilet, both Thetford products but at least we now have the van and able to use it and get some enjoyment from it.  Have had a few months to compare the van against other brands and still go with out original decision to buy Jurgens. Very well made in comparison but our van should not have been sold in the condition it was back in July 2014, which is a dealer problem and they also did not do a pre delivery or even sign the book.

Will be having words with them when back in QLD ( Brisbane).

The Jurgens Sungazer was on my shopping list. I've e-mailed two dealers over a week ago with questions on vans they had in stock.

One dealer's ad was full of discrepancies compared with Jurgens pamphlets and I asked to confirm things. No reply as yet. That doesn't give me much comfort. Is pre-delivery just as haphazard? Reading some comments here, I just may scrub Jurgens off my list. Even if customer service was good, the quality of the unit delivered appears questionable. Pity, because the specs tick all the right boxes for me.

Suggest you don't scrub them off your list as if you get a good one, checked and had a pre delivery done on it by the selling agent there should be no problems.  It is up to the dealers to check and make sure of the van condition prior to passing it on to customers, and suggest that a bad dealer will also give a company a bad name through their sloppy and don't care attitude.

After reading reports on other sites besides this one, there is one dealer in Queensland that I would advise anyone to steer clear of. It sells multiple brands of caravans...     Buyer beware, do the research first before putting even a deposit down..

The Jurgens 1901 still keeps floating to the top of my list. A brother of a friend bought a dual axle Jurgens just recently. The friend reckons it's a great finish using great materials and he's a fussy tradesman. Poured all over it. The 1901 was impressive. It's about the only small van that has decent sized single beds. Luckily I actually have 3 dealers within a reasonable distance to bargain with.

As I said previously, don't write them off as they are a good van, just make sure it has a pre delivery done and check it out yourself prior to parting with your hard earned cash.

At least you have a head start, you aren't buying in Queensland
