Updated on Mazda BT 50 seat problem.

Wanted to keep all that offered help with the seat problem informed.  Well, there's nothing to inform you of!!!

All our huffing and puffing has got us no where!!

The issue hasn't attracted the attention of anyone that can make a difference.

Thanks again for your interest and sympathetic ear!

Will let you know if there is anything to report .

Cheers Dianne and Stuart

Hi Dianne and Stuart,

I was talking to someone with a BT 50 only the other day about your seat problem and he had similar and found the seat covers he fitted ware rubbing against the seat adjuster. Readjusted seat and covers with no problem since. Maybe worth a look at if you have fitted seat covers.

The driver's seat in our BT 50 has this problem and its getting worse so we'll be off to see a Mazda dealer shortly to get this and a couple of other problems fixed under warranty.

- No seat covers

I have a Ford Ranger XL with the same problem. I took it to the local dealer to be told, " a fix was being looked at at the factory level" mind you both the BT50 and the Rangers are made on the same production line. I phoned Ford to express my problem and they told me if it got too bad they would replace the seat under my new car warrantee. Not too impressed, however its still a great ute.

Hi Phil,

yes great cars, tows with no prob. Mazda says the seat issue is being explored in Japan. We've offered our seat as a local example but they weren't interested.

HI Gooba,,, It sems you need to follow this up with non-Mazda and Current Affair action.

BELOW IS MY POST FROM YOUR PREVIOUS POST

Well I can tell you if you don't get any satisfaction from Mazda you contact the ACCC to report faults such as this.

The links below are from the Federal Office of Road Safety and ACCC on why and how to report these issues. I encourage you to do so.

http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/vehicles/complaints_recalls/index.aspx

http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/complaints-problems/make-a-consumer-complaint

http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/repair-replace-refund

Heaps of recalls for Mazda's on the ACC website for info.

http://www.accc.gov.au/search/accc-funnelback/BT50%20Mazda

If you don't do it who will?????

Why wait as the saying goes on OZ "for a death" to bring on the action.

Good luck.

Cheers Baz

Hi Baz, thanks, you made us do it this time! I think last time we were so disheartened we just put it out of our minds while we were away. But now its done. Read all the links you provided (for the second time, sorry) and have submitted a vehicle complaint form with the  Government body. Will see how this goes then proceed further in need. The seat problem wasn't listed in the recall list, even though it should be.

Thanks again, will let you know how we go.
