I was talking to someone with a BT 50 only the other day about your seat problem and he had similar and found the seat covers he fitted ware rubbing against the seat adjuster. Readjusted seat and covers with no problem since. Maybe worth a look at if you have fitted seat covers.

The driver's seat in our BT 50 has this problem and its getting worse so we'll be off to see a Mazda dealer shortly to get this and a couple of other problems fixed under warranty.
I have a Ford Ranger XL with the same problem. I took it to the local dealer to be told, " a fix was being looked at at the factory level" mind you both the BT50 and the Rangers are made on the same production line. I phoned Ford to express my problem and they told me if it got too bad they would replace the seat under my new car warrantee. Not too impressed, however its still a great ute.

yes great cars, tows with no prob. Mazda says the seat issue is being explored in Japan. We've offered our seat as a local example but they weren't interested.
Hi Baz, thanks, you made us do it this time! I think last time we were so disheartened we just put it out of our minds while we were away. But now its done. Read all the links you provided (for the second time, sorry) and have submitted a vehicle complaint form with the Government body. Will see how this goes then proceed further in need. The seat problem wasn't listed in the recall list, even though it should be.

Great and as I said before if you need any help let me know. Cheers Baz
