We are in Adelaide with our 31 ft mobile home, we are seeking new coil springs for the hydraulic lifter jacks, it seems that it is in the too hard basket, have been to hydraulics specialist , he wasn't interested, phone Darios Caravans in Adelaide, didn't want to know us after they found out the size of our rig, this isn't the first time they have been totally uninterested in us and our needs. Certainly won't recommend them to anyone . Does any one know where we can get springs and have them fitted in Adelaide ? Safe traveling to everyone . Ian
I assume there are 2 springs per Jack fitted external to the cylinder, and they lift the jack rod back up as you retract the jacks??
If that is the case and you have a sample, any spring works can wind you new springs to match the sample.
Could also adjust the new springs to overcome whatever the problem is that you are having.
As for other businesses being interested - these would most likely be made to order anyway, and not very expensive, so they wouldn't want a big bus sitting around while they were waiting for the springs.

I have just asked a mate that lives in Adelaide for his recommendation as he is in the auto supply parts business.. (Delivery driver)
I am just waiting for his reply on FB.
No guarentees Ian, but Roadmaster Caravans at Lonsdale south of Adelaide may be able to assist. They do repairs, rebuilds and build new. They may be able to point you in the right direction.
Good luck mate

If you can't get your springs, have you thought about adding air bags. They are not expensive, easy to fit and do a great job. A couple we run into a fair bit did that with their 28ft dual axle van and they are very happy. We are putting them on our bus when I save enough after another friend put them on his and it glides along.
I'd give Industrial Springs, 359 Port Rd Hindmarsh a try. 8346 2276. Name says industrial, but very much into automotive
Industrial Springs are spring makers. They will make what you need, but won't fit them on a big rig. They will be able to direct you to someone who can fit them though.
By the way, I think your criticism of caravan people who don't want to do this work is unreasonable.
It is hardly "normal" caravan or motorhome related work.
I would always recommend going to people who specialise in heavy vehicles if you have a heavy vehicle mechanical issue.
I use Dario on a regular basis and they excellent work in their related fields, but if I want a gearbox fixed, I go to a mechanic.
For springs and wheel alignment I have used Complete Laser Alignment at Regency Park. They specialise in heavy vehicles.
Cheers,
Peter
