The best butcher in Aussie is on the Gold coast.

Having lived on the gold coast for close to 20 years, the best butcher shop I found was at Cav's steakhouse at Labrador.

You pay app double the price of any cut of meat from there butcher shop, but its the old story you get what you pay for?

I used to buy the rib eye fillet it melted in your mouth, and the owners of the steakhouse supply there other hotel in Brissie with the same cuts of meat at the Breeky creek hotel.

But further more they supply the same quality meat to the Raffles hotel in Singapore.

Maybe if you go to Southport on the Gold coast Cavs is in frank st Labrador, I recommend them as quality for money.

My Sister lives just up the road at Runaway Bay.  I'll check to see if she buys from them.  I know that they get fantastic hams from a Butcher some where around the area.   

I'll post later when I get their reply.

I'm off to Tallebudgera Creek CP on Thursday for a few days, so I might take the 'coast road' past there on the way down & pick up my BBQ meat.

 Nah  .. My Sister doesn't go to this butcher but confirms that it has a very good reputation.

If the steak they sell there is as good as the steak they serve up in the restaurant then it will be super...

 

For anyone traveling in the Tamworth area the Globe Butchery on Goonoo Goonoo Rd is also renowned for their cuts of meat, and prices..

Bob, this is what we like to see great butchers through out Aussie that sell top quality meat at a fair price wink

As a aged pensioner at 70 yrs young I don't mind paying a bit more for quality and not that rubbish from the 2 big supermarkets.

Next year app march I be heading back to Qld from Sa and mostly be around the Beaudesert area , I will go to Cavs butcher with my large eva kool esky and get app $200.00 worth of top beef biggrin

Chairis sea food app 1/1/2 km north is great for fresh sea food. If you are there app lunch time, they feed the Pelicans with left over fish pieces, worth seeing here is a video from youtube.    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3fKSHTlUjw

There fish n chips be the best on the Gold coast.
