POWERED SITE $2.00 A NIGHT...!!

Ardelthan, a small town off the Newell Highway between West Wyalong and Narrandera, NSW. Camps 7, Map 43, Site 828. A very small town and in the main street, adjoining the Bowling Club is a FREE camp. Power is $2.00 for 12 hours, so if you stay 1 night, pay $2.00 around 7 pm, you'll have power until 7 am next morning. I stayed 2 days, so power cost was $8.00 for 48 hours. IGA across the street, many small stores, clean toilets. Where could you get a better deal. There is a Caravan Park in town and I heard it charges $28.00 for a powered site. Understandably it was almost empty...There are only 4 powered sites, so first in first served.

Thanks for that Ken, sounds like a nice place - we're heading down that way next week and power would be nice to run a heater.
Good Luck.

Yes I have stayed there twice. A great little spot with a nice café across the road. A very small town, not a lot there but worth a visit.

bloody great idea , every council should have one, i would imagine they would recover the cost fairly quickly and small business in these towns must prosper as well.
all councils should be lobbied from organisations such as the grey nomads and cmca. thanks guru

 Hey BG,

I was there recently. I opted for the CP park, $20 a night, deserted, which I liked and a free washing machine. Not the cleanest place re cobwebs etc but good to charge batteries, fill tanks, light a fire and just chill. CP park is run by Lions Club volunteers.
