We have had two Jayco poptops and now have a Jayco motorhome. The poptops went all over Aust with no problems at all. Last one was a new 2001 model which we had for 10 years but cannot say how the later models perform.
We are on our third and apart from a leaking water pump on the second last one have had no other problems. Our current one did nearly 20,000 kms last year and is already up to around 6,000 kms so far this year, so they don't get to sit in the driveway very often.

I had a 2006 small Jayco pop top caravan and apart for a few teething problems promptly fixed by Jayco found them a good van, their warranty cover is 2nd to none.
have had 3 Jayco's; Dove, Heritage and Sterling OB and nearly bought a Starcraft in Dec. No issues with them and think they are good value. Have been from Perth to Vic to Longreach (QLD) back to Vic then Perth then Pilbara. Lots of dirt roads and dust ingression in lower cupboards was obvious but we were getting on top of that.

Our Jayco is a 2010 Discovery "outback" pop-top. Its done around 50,000k's, including quite a few dirt roads, but not off-road.
We've had quite a few little annoying problems with it, such as door/drawer catches breaking, sink and water-inlet leaks, microwave came off its mountings.
We haven't had any internal leaks, but heavy rain gets into the front boot. Very little dust gets in, which surprised us, we haven't covered any vents.
All the appliances do what they are supposed to.
Everything has been fixed cheerfully by Jayco, or Mr D if we were too far away from civilization.
If we bought another van, we'd probably get another Jayco.
Thanks for the replies ,we were looking at an outback model,possibly an expander or Sterling,
don't really want to go over 18' but 20'would be absolute max.
We have also been looking at a flamingo but it seems they are more cumbersun to fold if you have innerspring mattresses.
Any other comments would be helpful.
Hi Grahos, like the others we are on our third Jayco and we are very happy. OUr first 2 were poptops as storage was an issue. The last van had a combined shower/toilet which was ok but I really wanted a full ensuite. We were looking at the new StarCraft poptop with full ensuite, but we sold our house so with no storage issues we decided on the full van. We have had a few little niggles but they have been fixed. As we are living in the van full time while we build our new house, the full van is just bliss. We are in Armidale and we are really appreciating the increased insulation and space that the full van gives us. I know Jayco has its "knockers" but it seems Im not the only one who keeps going back for more. Enjoy whatever you buy.
Kantiki You made an interesting comment that I had not thought of with the pop up letting in the cold,
over the full van being insulated.
The other question I had was combined shower/toilet verses Ensuite,
yes I know you have to go from 18' to 20' for an ensuite or is that a myth?
WE had an Eagle Camper first then a pop-up Discovery,we now have a full van with ensuite StarCraft 19.62 and love it.
At present we are living in it full time ,a great van..
You guys are changing my preconcieved ideas.
Looks like starcraft is the way to go.
Where would we be without the GN site.
This has proved to be a huge help for me.
