Reversing Camera Interference

cry I have had my BT50 fitted with a reversing camera and integrated to my caravan. However when the camera is in operation the FM stations from 845 - 1000 Khz become inaudible with high background hiss. The auto electrician and the manufacturer cannot solve it and I was wondering whether anyone has had this and come up with a fix. It happens whether I am using the BT50 or caravan camera in reverse or permanently on.

could be as simple as a damaged co[ax from the car antenna or just a faulty connection of the antenna to the radio which is letting the radiated noise from the monitor into the radio.

I had the same problem with a cheap camera I bought at one of the computer fairs a while back. Turned out to be the cig socket power adaptor causing the problem. This was a dash cam, not a reversing camera though.

Should that be the AM band, which is between 530khz and just over 1600khz? FM is between 88Mhz and 108Mhz.
Also, is your reversing camera wireless or cabled right through from camera to dash monitor?

Yep My error, my problem is with FM 88Mhz and 108Mhz Once I get passed 99Mhz it is OK. However most local channels are below 99.9. The camera was not a cheap one and was installed by an authorised Auto Elec who had previously and since fitted the system to other BT50s and Ford Rangers. The screen is fitted over the reversing mirror. My thoughts are its being affected by the screen due to the Radio Antenna being directly above.

Much like if you have a radio next to the TV and when you turn on the TV whilst the radio is operating the channels distort.

PS Both the BT 50 and the caravan are new. The system is hard wired.

I have a BT 50 and have had reversing cameras installed on the van and the ute as well as a rear view camera on the van and have no interference of any sort from any other devices. My screen is separate and not on of those that uses the rear vision mirror of the ute. Can't help other than that.
