Well ..... let me tell you about meeting up with the loveliest Gorilla I have come across last Sunday afternoon for a coffee on Bribie Island. We had a great chat but were ever mindful of the gathering clouds that were heading in from the south west, this necessitated us wishing him well with his travels and high-tailing it home.
Raced around and closed all the windows etc, and then watched and waited. We have never seen clouds rolling in so fast and so dark. 4.20pm the storm hit, and oh boy did it hit hard! The south west corner of the island in particular copped an absolute battering with goodness knows how many trees down - today (Wednesday) they are still clearing up, but there is still lots and lots of debris around. Thankfully we don't appear to have any damage, and better still our van doesn't appear to have any leaks - yay!!! Have to say with it parked beside the shed it is well protected from storms coming from the sw.
Heading out Monday morning and looking at the Bongaree Caravan Park, there seemed to be quite a bit of branches etc around the place and sadly one very sad looking camper trailer - I thin k it's days of travelling are over and it is on it's way to camper-trailer heaven.
For others that may have been in this area, we hope that you 'survived' OK.

G'day Pejay, great to keep up the meetings tradition!
Difficult to site a tent when there are so many trees there, plus when its not raining they would have wanted the shade. hope everybody is ok.
Could you send some of that rain west please? Terribly dry here in Perth.
