Can anyone recommend a brand of tinting for my windows? Also any recommendations of good place to get it done in Adelaide?

I have used 3M and have been very satisfied over many years there is a 3M dealer in Adelaide http://solutions.3m.com.au/wps/portal/3M/en_AU/Window_Film/Solutions/Support/Find_a_Dealer/

If you have not had tinted windows before I would recommend that you don't get the front windows too dark as on a rainy night it reduces visibility, the darkness of the tint does not make any difference to the reduction of heat coming through the window as this is a factor of the metallic film that is contained within the tint film.

Cheers

I had Solartint fitted to my magna sedan 12 years ago, I have had no problems with it. Also you can get a lifetime warranty.

Solartint Adelaide is 08 8351 7388.

When did the law change to allow tinting your front window,as far as i am aware you can have the tinting that comes with the window and that covers the first 125mm approx coming down from the top of the window.

 I think dutchy was referring to the driver and passenger windows. (I thought the same as you first time I read it)

In WA you can have a tint strip across the top of your front window as long as it doesn't come down any further than your sun visors when they are down apparently.

Edit:  Just checked the WA Transport Regs, in WA you can have a strip at the top of the front window but it is not to be lower than the arc of the windscreen wipers also restrictions on level of tint, see;

To clarify yes it is the front side windows, when reversing, it is very difficult to see using the mirrors in the rain in at night without opening the window also much harder to find an address of a property at night in poor visibility conditions.

I had two previous vehicles done by Tint a Car, the tint I used was called Forumula 1, I had no trouble seeing through it winter or summer, perhaps because it was not a very dark one, but just as effective.  I was very happy with both tints and they are guaranteed.

Here is a link for Adelaide only, you would have to type in your postcode to see which store is nearest you, see;

http://www.tintacar.com.au/contact-a-store?postcode=5000&radius=10

Tint A Car are franchises and their prices can differ, so check a couple to get the best price....

This is some info on the Formula 1 Tint;

http://www.tintacar.com.au/car-tinting/formula-1-window-tint

The SA transport regs on window tinting, suggest check with RAC Adelaide as well...
