Where to stay Tumbarumba C/P or ColacColac at Easter

We had plans to go to Corryong after Easter but plans have now changed and we have to travel with our small dog and looking at these two parks for Easter . We are from Adelaide and don't know the area at all so can anyone give me a suggestion on either of these parks, they both sound good. Also any idea of the weather in mid to late April and are we going to have any trouble getting around and seeing things with a dog eg  I know we can't get into National Parks. Would about 5 days be too long in this area or ideal .Thanks for any help

Both are lovely areas to stay in, but have you checked if there are any vacancies at either place as Easter will be a very busy time this year, as many are taking 3 days off between Easter and Anzac day and having a 10 day break, plus the NSW school holidays are at the same time.
Cheers
David

Hi, providing you can get a booking my choice would be the Colac Colac Caravan Park (locals pronounce it as Clack Clack). It's a big park with plenty of shade and grass and a creek on it's boundary. And no, five days wouldn't be too long a stay as there are so many beautiful drives to do from there. While we have visited Tumbarumba frequently, we haven't stayed at the C.P. there, but it's a nice drive from Corryong that can be easily done for a day trip if you wanted to explore that area. Whatever you decide, hope you enjoy your holiday. Cheers, Annie

This might help,We have stayed here a couple of times also plenty of spots just out of Tumbarumba.

Watch the early-morning mist rise off the surface of Paddys River at this lovely grassed camping area, 18 km south of Tumbarumba via the TumbarumbaTooma Rd. You can swim and fish here; not far away are opportunities for horseriding, mountain-biking and bushwalking. Bring your own firewood and boil/treat the river water before drinking. There are dump sites in Tumbarumba and Khancoban.

Colac Colac is a good choice.
There are 3 excellent free camp site south of Tumbarumba with Paddy's River Falls being the one furthest south of Tumbarumba. They're all well sign posted.
It's the best of the free camps, but can get pretty crowded on holiday weekends etc.
